Description

Circa 1885. Cradled between Chesapeake Bay and the beach, this Queen Anne Victorian graces the historic district with an inviting, wicker-furnished wraparound front porch and a veranda with a flower garden shaded by a large magnolia tree. The bed and breakfast is filled with literary memorabilia and portraits that honor writers and their books. Sit by the fire in the Mark Twain Reading Parlor. Each guest bedroom realistically reflects a famous author. Select the 1920s jazzy Harlem Renaissance of the Langston Hughes Room or the romantic Jane Austen Room with a clawfoot tub and ambiance of Regency England. The Robert Louis Stevenson Room offers 19th-century high-seas adventure. Linger over a gourmet breakfast in the French Café Colette where afternoon tea and evening liqueur are also served. A stocked refrigerator and microwave is available for guest use.

The grand Jane Austen Room, will transport you back to Regency England, with many special touches to delight any Austen aficionado. The spacious bathroom (10 x 12) features a clawfoot tub, separate shower for two and private wc.

The Robert Louis Stevenson Room

The nautical, “upper deck” bed chamber in the Robert Louis Stevenson Room; the cozy quarters include a writers desk, separate entry/dressing area and the “Child’s Garden of Verses” bathroom with tub and shower. The entire suite is adorned with RLS book illustrations by Tasha Tudor and NC Wyeth.

The Langston Hughes Room

Immerse Yourself in the Harlem Renaissance! The Langston Hughes Room is a celebration of the authors, writers and musicians of one of America’s most creative eras. Small bathroom with large shower. It’s a 1920′s New York State of Mind.

Reservation/Cancellation Policies:

Minimum Stay Requirements	Two-night minimum on holiday weekends only; other times, no minimum.
Children Restrictions	Ages 14 and over only
Cancellation	One night prepayment required. Refundable (minus $25 cancellation charge) if given cancellation notice 10 days or more prior to date of arrival. Reservations for holiday weekend stay: 14 day prior cancellation notice required to receive refund (minus $25 cancellation charge). If cancelled after these minimum requirements, the prepayment will be non-refundable, but may be applied to future bookings.
